Our Winery

Three generations of passion for the vine — tradition and innovation in balance

Our Story

Three generations,
one passion

The story of Podmaniczky Winery began in 1962, when our grandfather József Podmaniczky planted the first vines on the south-facing slopes near Balatonföldvár.

Now in its third generation, the winery blends traditional craft techniques with modern winemaking knowledge. Every bottle captures the spirit of the Balaton Uplands.

Our wines are hand-harvested with careful selection and aged in barrels under conditions worthy of the finest wineries.

The wine's journey — from vine to glass

1

Hand Harvest

Throughout September and October, our experienced harvesters hand-pick the finest bunches vine by vine.

2

Processing

Crushing, pressing and fermentation take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

3

Ageing

Our premium reds age for 12–18 months in small French oak barrels in our 12°C cellar.

4

Bottling

The finished wine is also bottled and aged on-site. A maximum of 18,000 bottles leave our winery each year.
